My First COB

Hey, don't mean to interupt but...... Did I just buy a piece of crap or one sweet snare?

It's cool, now I know how to tell if I got stiffed on my COB. No pun intended [img]redface.gif[/img]

i have a 12-lug 70s slingerland -- is there any way to tell if it is COB by visual inspection only (or do i need to a shaving off somewhere) ?

you should be able to tell by taking the head off and looking at the plating insiede around the lip of the bearing edge. Most COB are older and drums from the 70's were usually just some sort of steel.
